Rhythm and Blues with a touch of Soul and Swing. This band hail from the Doncaster area.

Featuring 'Room 21' swing band from the Isle of Axholme.

If you thought live swing bands had gone the way of the Dodo, come to this concert and see for yourself that they are very much alive and, well, Swinging.

Best of Intentions will be hosting the evening's entertainment.

Allan and Liam - We have heard Allan as a 'Buffalo Brother' but on this occasion he will be joined by son Liam.

Lys St George - Melodeon Maestro Peter Barnard, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Kate Bilmore, will give the evening a traditional flavour.

Best of Intentions - What would be do without the boys to get us in the mood.

4th Young Acoustic Roots Competition

Young musicians around the country are being offered an opportunity to develop their performance skills by entering this free competition. It is open to folk-roots and acoustic musician’s aged 12 to 21 with the winner performing at Cleethorpes Folk Festival and getting a chance to record a demo with ex-Kerfuffle guitarist Chris Thornton-Smith of The BPAS Group.

Finalists will now perform as part of the evening concert at Bawtry which is headlined by nationally recognised singer-songwriter Jez Lowe. Tickets for the concert are £8 and there will also be a free afternoon singaround in the bar for anyone who wishes to join in.

Rupert and Henry – accompanied by Pietro and Josh, this young group will take us back to the 60’s with a mix of Pop, Country, Jazz and Rock and Roll.

Talisman  Carol (Fiddle) Lisa (Singer,Whistle,Percussion) and Steve (Guitar) came together for the first time at the recent Burton Stather music festival and gave an excellent account of themselves.

We are pleased to welcome young folk group Kerfuffle. A four piece instrumental, dance and vocal group they draw their inspiration from both traditional and contemporary music to create their uniquely appealing sound. Comprising band members Hannah James (vocals, keyboard, clogging), Sam Sweeney (fiddle) Tom Sweeney (bass guitar) and Chris Thornton-Smith (guitar), Kerfuffle were Radio 2 Young Folk Award finalists 2004/05. They have appeared at major UK festivals and won the 'In the Tradition' award in Derby, 2002. The band released their second album K2 in June 2004. Bawtry Phoenix Theatre is pleased to announce that renowned Merseyside Minstrel, Bob Buckle will be making a special appearance at the Theatre on Sunday 10th April.
An instrumentalist, Bob's forte is the banjo (we hear that he taught Billy Connelly to play the instrument).
The evening is being held in aid of the Theatre extension fund, tickets £7, available from Dickies Newsagents.
